After many years of creating Custom Shop McPherson guitars, it was our goal to build a new guitar and achieve the ultimate blend of price and build-specifications, without sacrificing the tonal qualities for which McPherson is known.

We knew this process would not be easy and we did not want to settle for mediocre. Matt McPherson and the builders that brought the McPherson Custom Shop to life are the same builders that have given life to the Standards. The level of care and attention to detail has elevated McPherson to be known for what it is today, and the Standard is the embodiment of perfection, which is why we have called it the McPherson Standard.
